After a 11 day trek across Canada, I have finally settled back home in Quebec. It was a good trip, despite early winter conditions that really tested my trailer heating system and my driving skills on icy roads in Northern Ontario. It is nice to back home! Highlights of the return trip:
Crossing Jasper National Park on a clear sunny day. The snow covered peaks reflected strongly in the sunlight and provided magnificent views. The Palissades were absolutely spectacular, and we even had to wait patiently as a herd of elks crossed the highway.
Meeting up with Don et Randy Halladay in Portage-La-Prairie, Manitoba. There were coming for a weekend clinic just as I was spending a couple of days resting on the trip. It was fun to get together and talk shop, as well as catch up on the happenings in our lives. I hope they managed to stay warm through the clinic, it was snowing when I left in the morning! Thank you to the Neudorfs for their open and simple hospitality, making everyone feel at home.
My teaching day in Wawa, Ontario. Carol-Anne and Tracey were wonderful hosts and we managed to hold off Old Man Winter for a day of fun and savvy. My horses enjoyed socializing with the alpacas! I was even treated to Thanksgiving turkey dinner thanks to Tracey's inlaws, it was wonderful.
As the horses and I settle for the winter, I am already taking bookings for clinics and workshops in 2010. You are guaranteed the 2009 rates if your deposit and booking is received by the end of December! I may travel cross-country again next year, so stay tuned for my availability in different areas in 2010.

Après 11 jours de voyage à travers le Canada, je me réinstalle enfin à la maison. J'ai fait bon voyage, malgré les conditions hivernales qui ont mis à l'épreuve le système de chauffage de ma remorque et mes capacités à conduire sur des routes glacées au Nord de l'Ontario. Quel plaisir de retrouver mon chez moi! Les points saillants du retour:
La traversée du Parc National de Jasper par temps dégagé. Les sommets enneigés se reflétaient de façon spectaculaire dans le soleil, c'était magnifique! Les Palissades étaient absolument enivrantes tant elles étaient belles, et j'ai même dû patienter pour laisser traverser une harde de caribous.
Ma rencontre avec Don and Randy Halladay à Portage-La-Prairie, Manitoba. Ils arrivaient pour donner un stage de fin de semaine au même moment où je séjournais deux jours pour me reposer. Nous avons eu du plaisir à nous raconter nos étés et à parler affaires. J'espère qu'ils auront pu rester au chaud pendant le stage, il neigeait quand j'ai repris la route le lendemain! Merci à la famille Neudorf qui nous accueillait avec simplicité et chaleur, tout le monde se sentait chez soi!
Mon atelier à Wawa, Nord de l'Ontario. Carol-Anne et Tracey ont été d'excellents hôtes et nous avons réussi à tenir le Bonhomme Hiver à l'écart pour une journée de plaisir et de savvy. Mes chevaux ont bien aimé faire connaissance avec les alpacas. J'ai même été invitée à manger la dinde de l'Action de Grâce chez les beaux-parents, c'était très agréable.
Les chevaux et moi nous installons pour l'hiver, et je prends déjà les réservations pour les stages et les ateliers en 2010. Les tarifs 2009 sont garantis pour les réservations et dépôts reçus avant la fin décembre. Il est possible que je refasse le voyage dans l'Ouest l'an prochain, restez branchés pour les disponibilités à travers le Canada en 2010.
